Office of the Fire Chief
St. Albans Fire Chief
Chief Lance Carney
St. Albans Fire Department continuously strives to stay connected and interact with the citizens we serve. Whether it’s through our website, social media channels or through in-person contact, we want to keep you informed about what’s going on in our fire district, and likewise, we want to receive input from you.
St. Albans Fire serves over 10,000 citizens in our first-due response area, and covers over 40 sq miles and 40,000+ people through our standing automatic and mutual aid agreements.
In the course of a year, we respond to around 1800 emergencies that range from fires and medical calls to incidents involving hazardous materials, technical rescues, water rescues, and automobile accidents. We also interact with thousands of residents through our fire prevention services and safety education programs. Throughout all we do, we see our residents and businesses not just as customers we serve, but as partners in keeping our community safe and healthy.
I’m honored to lead a proud group of Firefighters who are dedicated to continually improving the services they provide. Thank you for your continued partnership as we grow a safer, more prepared community.
Please know that we are here to serve, and as always, please reach out if you have a question or concern.
