St. Albans, WV- The St. Albans Fire Department is excited to announce a partnership with the American Red Cross to make available free smoke alarms to all city of St. Albans residents. This program is aimed at helping to ensure that everyone in our community is as safe as possible from the dangers of smoke and fire.
According to the National Fire Protection Association, smoke alarms play a vital role in saving lives and preventing injuries from fires. In fact, having working smoke alarms in your home can reduce your risk of dying in a fire by nearly 50%. Yet, far too many homes do not have these life-saving devices installed or are not working properly.
To take advantage of this program, St. Albans residents can call 304-727-2252 or request on our website at stalbansfire.com to schedule their installation. We highly encourage everyone in the city to take advantage of this program, as it could potentially save your life or the life of a loved one.
